elaborate collages

Collage is based on breaks between pieces. Juxtaposition.

If you don't smooth them all over, those breaks can be a powerful gift. They pose questions. One can explore how different, specific takes on things - styles, qualities, media - can coexist and refuse to coexist.

There's a little bit of empty time between our successive engagements with pictures like this. Breaks within images remind me that breaks in consciousness happen all the time and can be collaborated with. Who knows who you'll be on the other side of a pause? 

Looking at an image built like that takes time, just like making it does.
