collages & drawings with people
People can be seen as being made of different kinds of stuff.
A single gesture of witnessing - a sloppy, jotted notation: "I saw something, I was here" - is hardly enough to do justice to even one second of a human being. But a number of subsequent moments of attention, minimal, light acknowledgments, nods - can accrete into an artifact that says a little bit of something about humanity.
As long as I don’t smooth the image out to fit a traditional fiction of oneness.
We probably don't "have" our complexity at any one moment either.
